Feds nab Idol-scandalized mayor

Idolized: Birmingham, Alabama's mayor Larry Langford could be facing a long prison sentence for (among other things) reportedly channeling funds to his pal's boy-toy, adult star Ryan Idol.

Though funds were earmarked by Alabama voters to provide disadvantaged children with free laptops, the money somehow ended up in Idol's pocket in compensation for "computer repairs."

Hollywood agent and ex-Idol manager David Forrest told Unzipped that he doubted his former client had any technical proficiency: "I never saw any evidence Ryan had any experience in computer repair."

What Idol lacks in tech know-how, he definitely makes up for in other departments, though.

In June of this year, Mayor Langford initially denied Birmingham Pride organizers a parade permit. Said Langford at the time: “I don’t think I’m intolerant, I just don’t condone the lifestyle. Your personal lifestyle should be nobody’s issue but yours. It’s not a civil rights issue, it’s a personal choice issue.”

Ironically, the now-busted Mayor's personal choice was to allegedly bankroll his buddy's boyfriend.
